What It Does

A combination of Seachem testing kits that measures marine pH, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. The Marine pH and Alkalinity test is for marine or brackish water use only, with a dye that makes a pronounced color change between 8.0 and 8.3, read in 0.5 meq/L increments, with an accurate range of pH 7.80 - 8.70 and alkalinity 0 - infinite. The Ammonia test accurately measures total ammonia (NH3 and NH4+) and free ammonia (NH3 only) down to less than 0.05 mg/L, virtually free of interference in saltwater and freshwater, with an accurate range of 0 - 6 mg/L; free ammonia is the toxic form and most important to watch. The Nitrate/Nitrite test measures nitrite to less than 0.1 mg/L and nitrate to less than 0.2 mg/L in saltwater and freshwater; values are expressed as nitrite and nitrate rather than nitrogen, and to convert to nitrogen divide by 3.3 and 4.4 respectively. Included is an opaque multi-cavity test plate with six individual cavities to test and compare several samples at once, an easy to read color chart with a 5-centimeter viewing window, and a reference sample to verify accuracy.
